Narrative

An Iranian-American trans man travels back in time to the LGBTQ+ archives to understand his sexuality. He confronts his past and present on an erotic journey of self-discovery. The film’s portrayal of identity, sex, and understanding of one part of the queer community is powerful and deeply moving. It’s relatable. The interviewees discuss the insecurities and challenges of being new and different in an established community. The insights provided about the risks this community faces were eye-opening, but not in the traditional sense. I felt like the stories in this film just showed me how to focus on issues that were hidden in plain sight. I highly recommend this film. By getting to know the people around us, we learn more about ourselves. I definitely gained an education through this particular film.
