Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, takes the plunge to seize control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a Bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our first glimpse of Robert Pattinson in „The Penguin.“ In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? Colin Farrell fought hard to get his own smoking-tobacco version of The Penguin in Batman (2022), but he failed. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars.
So, the first episode is done, and it was great
The umbrella falls, and the logo is changed to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I’ve never seen Farrell so invested in a character.
This is a New York mobster, a smart guy
I mean, yeah, he wears a fat suit, but you’d never know it. His attitude, body language, and voice make you sink into the character and just see the Penguin. It has nothing to do with the other live-action TV Penguins, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor. He’s Scorsese’s mobster, but without the slang.
Very entertaining and highly recommended
The plot is simple, similar to Lord Taylor’s Penguin on the CW’s Gotham . The Penguin is a mediocre mobster. So far, he’s been doing his time, slowly working his way up the mob, and after the Riddler blows up the city’s seawall and his boss dies in this movie, he sees an opportunity to move up in the world. Now the game of cross, double cross, and I think triple cross begins.
